The Dragomir family and those who shape their fate
Characters

Sylvia Devanna Dragomir
The eldest of the Dragomir children
Since the death of her mother, she has taken on many of the family's responsibilities. With her father, Ivan, weathered beyond his years and no longer able to provide as he once did, Sylvia has become the family's primary hunter and protector.
Practical, dependable, and selfless, Sylvia rarely thinks beyond the needs of those she loves. Her world revolves around keeping her family safe and ensuring they have enough to survive. Unlike the rest of her family, she places little importance on tradition in her appearance, favoring simple, practical clothing—typically jeans and a hoodie—over traditional Romanian attire. Though she sees herself as an ordinary young woman doing what needs to be done, Sylvia is about to find herself at the center of events far greater than she could have ever imagined.
Beniamin Dragomir
Sylvia's younger brother
Beniamin Dragomir is Sylvia's younger brother and the first child of Ivan and Andrada Dragomir. Quiet, thoughtful, and dependable, Beniamin approaches life with a calmer outlook than his older sister. While Sylvia often carries the weight of the family on her shoulders, Beniamin is more patient and optimistic, believing that difficult times will eventually pass.
As a blacksmith apprentice, Beniamin is meant to learn the family trade from his father, Ivan. However, Ivan's grief and declining involvement have left much of Beniamin's training incomplete, forcing him to teach himself many of the skills he hopes to master.
Through his mother, Andrada, Beniamin is descended from the ancient Dacians, a people renowned for their knowledge of the mystical arts. Andrada herself studied these ancient traditions under Bunica's guidance and through years of dedicated study. Although Beniamin has inherited the same aptitude for Dacian magic, his greatest potential has yet to be shaped.

Viorica & Tiranie Dragomir
The Dragomir twins
Viorica and Tiranie Dragomir are the youngest of the Dragomir children. Their lives have been fairly troubled, despite the fact that they are only ten years old. Sylvia and Beniamin knew their mother somewhat, but the twins never knew Andrada. That being said, there is no shortage of love in the Dragomir household.
The Dragomir twins also inherited the Dacian lineage. They have the potential for magic, just as Beniamin and Andrada did. But sometimes that magic manifests itself in different ways…
Ivan Dragomir
Blacksmith, hunter, father, provider, and protector
Benjamin Ivan Dragomir is a blacksmith, hunter, father, provider, and protector. However, when the story begins, Ivan is only a shadow of the man he once was. Burdened by the loss of both of his wives, he has become consumed by grief and withdrawn from the responsibilities he once carried.
Ivan’s first wife, The Lady Diana, was unable to remain in the human world to continue their union. Later, he lost Andrada, the woman who raised their children and preserved the family’s connection to their Dacian heritage through her studies of the ancient magical traditions under Bunica.
Before his losses, Ivan was a strong and capable man—wise, skilled, and deeply devoted to his family. His failures in the present do not come from a lack of love, but from being overwhelmed by sorrow. As the Dragomir family embarks on their quest to rescue Viorica and Tiranie, Ivan begins to rediscover his purpose.
His journey is not about returning to the man he was before tragedy struck. It is about becoming the man he is capable of being despite everything he has lost.

Bunica
Caretaker of the Dragomir household
Bunica is the caretaker of the Dragomir household. She has served as a guardian of the Rotunda, a mentor to Andrada, and a grandmother to the Dragomir children. Bunica has lived in the Baciu Forest for hundreds of years.
She keeps her true identity hidden from the Dragomir children for now. But don’t let her appearance fool you. There is much more to Bunica than meets the eye.
Samca
The most corrupt of the Old Gods
Samca is the most corrupt of the Old Gods. She is the personification of entropy and chaos.
When the Old Gods were sent to the Rotunda, Samca was one of the first to oppose their imprisonment. Over time, as the Rotunda weakened, she managed to escape and reappear in the Baciu Forest on multiple occasions.
Samca is not yet strong enough to escape the forest entirely. To break free she needs to draw more power from something, or someone…
